The information we collect

We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and carry out your job.

  • Enquiry details. Your name, phone number, email address, project location, the service you need, the floor area, your timescale and anything else you tell us about the project. We receive these when you use the form on our Contact page, or when you call, text, email or message us.
  • Job and payment records. If you become a customer, we keep the site address, quotations, invoices, payment records and our correspondence with you.
  • Photographs. We photograph some floors for our records and to show examples of our work. See "Photographs of our work" below.
  • Technical information. Our hosting provider records the IP address, browser type and pages requested by each visitor in its server logs. If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect statistics about how you use the site. See our Cookie Policy.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we ask you not to send it. We do not take payments through this website.

How we use your information

The law requires us to have a legal basis for each use. Ours are:

  • Replying to your enquiry, arranging a site visit and preparing a quotation. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Carrying out the work, invoicing you and dealing with any follow-up. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
  • Keeping accounting and tax records. Legal basis: a legal obligation.
  • Keeping the website secure, preventing spam and fixing faults. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable website.
  • Understanding how the website is used, through analytics cookies. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Showing examples of our work. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in promoting the business in a way that does not identify you.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not sell your information and we do not add you to marketing lists.

Photographs of our work

We photograph some completed floors and may use the photos on this website and on our Instagram page. We do not publish customer names or addresses with them. If you would prefer that we do not use photos of your property, tell us at any time and we will leave them out or remove them.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run the business:

  • SiteGround, which hosts this website and our email.
  • Elementor, whose services deliver the emails sent by our contact form and support our cookie banner.
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies and supplies the fonts used on this site. Loading the fonts sends your IP address to Google.
  • Our accountant and other professional advisers, where they need it to do their work for us.
  • Suppliers and subcontractors, where they need a site address or contact name to deliver materials or carry out part of your job.
  • Regulators, insurers and the courts, where the law requires it or to deal with a claim.

These organisations may use your information only to provide their service to us, or as the law allows. If you contact us through Instagram or another messaging service, that service also handles your message under its own privacy policy.

Sending information outside the UK

Some of our providers process information outside the UK. Elementor is based in Israel and Google is based in the United States. Where information is sent outside the UK, it is protected either by UK adequacy regulations for that country or by the contractual safeguards the provider has in place.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 2 years after our last contact with you.
  • Customer and job records, including quotations and invoices: 6 years after the end of the financial year in which the job was completed, to meet tax and accounting rules.
  • Photographs of our work: until we no longer need them or you ask us to remove them.
  • Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period, for security and fault-finding.
  • Analytics data: no more than 14 months.

After these periods we delete the information or make it anonymous.

How we protect it

This website uses HTTPS encryption. Access to the website, our email and our records is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, so contact us straight away if you think your information has been misused.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • delete your information
  • limit how we use it
  • stop using it, where we rely on our legitimate interests
  • send your information to you or to another organisation in a portable format

You can also withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time by changing your cookie choice.

These rights have limits. For example, we must keep invoices for as long as the law requires. To use any of them, email info@mbseeley.com or call 07845 325857. There is normally no fee and we will reply within one month.
